Update XVII

We've reached a milestone! The Overture is now pretty much complete. The plan is to have the X tune as the intro, which builds up and drops down at the end. A big wobble sample, then some chugging guitars. Mini build up, then DOOF DOOF DOOF DOOF, 145BPM hard trance with a couple of mean riffs, slight breakdown, and some samples from other tunes on the album. Full of energy, and exactly what I had pictured.

That should feed nicely into the next tune on the album. The idea of an album is always an important concept to me. I want people to listen to the hour of music and go through the range of emotions, rather than shuffling and just picking the odd song to pop on a play list. Call me old fashioned but that's what I love. 

So my current plan is : 

So with all tunes written, it's time for mixing and mastering. Now this is going to be fun. Gonna expand the spreadsheet and work out what groups are common across all and set up templates in my DAW to try and get a consistent sound.

But first, a holiday. Gonna be good to take a break and come back fully recharged and ready to finish this album. See you in a couple of weeks!
